No matter how many times I have tried to save one of the many cool signs Lucy makes for dad or any one of us to reuse, she doesn't want it. She likes to make new ones. I guess it is all in the doing it that means something to her, which I totally understand. It is never expected, but I love that she does that for us. The kids spent the evening doing crafty things...

Deacon: "Mom, I love you so much. In the world."

Deacon says "in the world" quite often about whatever he thinks is really serious. It's a VERY BIG DEAL.

Dae returned from his business/training trip last night. The week ended up being a very busy, slightly emotional one...The girls were pretty mad at his boss for making him be away from home on Valentines day, a holiday that is right up there with Halloween and maybe even Christmas. Or not.

On Valentine Eve, the girls and I spent the later part of the evening making our nails red and pink with glitter and hearts. Then in the morning they would both wear red and pink shirts and headbands. They had it all very well planned out the night before.

Of course we couldn't have a normal Valentines day without good old fashioned sugar cookies, which the kids waited and made on Thursday evening just before Dae came home. They also adorned our home with some balloons as a surprise, which were left laying oddly around the house.
