Photo Competition

To celebrate the 24th today and Dae's day off work, we went to Salt Lake to have a photo competition. We were supposed to try to capture still life as well as action or really anything we wanted. At the end of the day we would decide on a few favorite pictures and declare the winner. I took this beauty on the drive home, so it can't be counted. I've been eyeing this barn for months.

And the winner is...Lucy!
Family selfie at Alpha coffee got 5 out of 5 votes.
Second runner up is Dae for taking this adorable picture of Jack at the park.
Deacon took third place. He took this shot of Dae throwing a disc.
Kandus and Mom tied for 4th. Kandus took the family shot of us eating.
Mom took this picture of Kandus laughing while eating.
Today was so fun!

July 4th Post Op

If it weren't for Skipper, there would be no pictures from this night. Today was pretty low key for me. I stayed home and rested, while Dae took the kids swimming at Ken and Robin's in the afternoon. Being 5 days post surgery, I didn't feel up to it. They brought home burgers(JCW's) for dinner and we spent the rest of the evening at home watching fireworks from the comfort of our own front yard. None of us minded that one bit. Or maybe they were just being nice to me. Actually...what made it awesome was when Dae took the kids up on top of the roof to watch the fireworks up high. That was something they have never got to do.

On the EVE

Out to see the Star Wars matinee in 3D at 12:55pm, then some burgers from Iggy's before heading home early for the evening. Those burgers you see right there on mine and Dae's plates are jalapeƱo burgers. Ohhhh man...they are delish.
Today was such a great day being with the fam. I love them so much. They crack me up in ways no one else can.

Gingerbread and Candy.

(Front row to back/left to right) Deacon, Noah, Harrison, Mckay.
Adam, Kandus, Emily, Amie Jo, Lucy.
Annie, Payton, Charlie, Brook.
Ashley, Damon, Greg, Andi, Jason, Ellie, Ryan.

A night of soup, family, and candy houses.
Pictures of the night and a few candy house tips...
#1 Dump any and all excess frosting on top of your candy house when you're done. That way none goes to waste and you've also created a winter wonderland scene. (bottom right)
#2 Cut, cut, cut all your candy...the whole evening long.
#3 Lastly, eat all your candy...first not after.
That's how candy-house making night is done.
