Deac was awake before anyone today. For a good reason too. Today is Kandus's birthday...and he had to get up early enough to hide his surprise before she got up for school. I found him sitting alone in the dark with just the dim light from a hall plug in. He was busy cutting paper. On the floor next to him was a pile of money. He immediately hushed me and told me not to tell Kandus what he was making, which was a little paper wallet to store the money in. He planned this surprise for her the night before(which I had no clue about). When she got home from school today she found a treasure hunt with clues all over the house in which led her to $7 cash.
After dinner, the family went on a walk/ride in the cool night air. It was so much fun. We plan to take the family to dinner this weekend to celebrate more.:)
She doesn't expect a lot for her birthday and never has. Her only wish was to do something with her family. So thankful for her.
