On our way to the airport. I was a cry baby for a few minutes. Grandma LuJean and grandpa Bart stayed with the kids. Even though I knew they would be alright, I missed them already and it was a little hard to leave.
Atlanta spelled out on the overpass, very cool. And the Georgia peach symbol inside the conference center.
The Swan House is where the movie Twilight was filmed. This mansion was an amazingly large, beautiful place. There was a water fountain spilling over into large dome cups, running all the way down the center of the steps in the backyard.
Dae and I ate at some fantastic places. One of our favorites was Legal Sea Foods, which we went to twice. I have never seen a metallic silver fire hydrant before. It was very different.
During the daytime, I took tours with other women who's spouses were also attending the conference like Damon was. My favorite part of all the tours was the day we saw the wall art featuring Martin Luther King and the Black Revolution. The walls were so big and the art was inspiring and amazing.
But the nights were mine to be with Dae. Him and I went together to the Georgia Aquarium, the largest in the world is what they say. We saw all kinds of sharks and pretty much every underwater animal I can think of. It was amazing and also very dark inside which made it hard to take pictures.
While walking back to our hotel one night in the darkness, the city was alive and felt menacing. Maybe I was just fooling myself, but between the deafening booming from the music that shook the city, to the bold neon lights looming in the blackness, and the dense fog that blanketed the sky with heaviness, there was an ambience there that made me feel like I was right inside Gotham city. There were people everywhere and it was actually, in a way, enchanting and thrilling to me. I didn't want to stop taking pictures.
(Picture of Atlanta at night with the tops of the towers covered in fog.)
Something I won't forget about Atlanta is how pedestrians own the streets. They don't wait for traffic lights or traffic, for that matter, to be clear. They just walk...anywhere and everywhere. It was VERY different.
Did you know that Atlanta is the Coca Cola capital of the world?...I had no idea. I think Coca Cola is from the devil. And I honestly I wouldn't care at all, except that it made for a cool picture! This was a block from our hotel.

The parts of the trip that I will remember the most are the times Dae and I were together. We walked and we walked....while we walked, we talked about how we felt about being able to take this trip together, how glad we were, and how we would never forget it. It was so much fun being together. I love you Dae.
Goodbye Atlanta, Georgia! It has been an adventure.
