We've been living in our new house for about 9 months now. We are getting nice and settled here and in fact we love it. The area is amazingly quiet and friendly. A world of difference from where we were in our last home. Which we were so used to considering we lived there for almost 15 years. Damon has been so busy with travel the last month, leaving every other week. And if he stays with this job, it will continue to be that way all throughout the fall and winter months. That isn't what any of us want and it's not quite what we expected in taking on this job. It's becoming more and more important to us that we move on. I don't understand how some people like to travel that much and be away from home. Especially if they have a family that they leave behind. I know Dae feels like his life is being wasted away when he leaves this much.
This picture was taken just minutes after Dae got home. He went out on the patio to relax. He pretty much gets tackled by all of the kids every time he walks in the door from one of his week long trips. I have living proof that being apart makes you appreciate each other even more. I heard Kandus say, "Dad, I am just going to follow you around and go where you go."
They stayed outside talking together for a while. I'm sure some of what they talked about included how her week went, including soccer practice which was earlier that morning(which she didn't particularly love). And then at dinner she said, "It just doesn't feel the same at home without DAD."
And she is right.
