Christmas is at 7

I'm pretty sure this was the first Christmas that the kids woke up before 8:00 a.m.
Pretty sure they were pushing on 7:00. Or was it 7:30?...
I think it's awesome and I consider myself a lucky mom. Not that our kids don't get excited mind you, because of course they do. And not that I wasn't already awake for hours laying in bed anxious myself, because I was. But, we do like them to wait until at least 6:30, which they well know, and have been painstakingly respectful with our wishes. I think we only had a problem one year...back when Lucy...or was it Kandus, woke us up wondering "Is it morning?" about 20 times throughout the night. Since then, we have usually had to go and wake them up because they were sleeping SO LONG overdue. There was even one year when Lucy's reply to "Wake up, it's Christmas!" was...."I don't want to get up yet. I'm still tired."
Yeah, that came as quite a funny shock to us all.

Look at that...I just noticed Deacon changed out of his pajamas. He was awake long enough to get himself dressed and ready for the day. How adorable!
I didn't notice before now?
The girls didn't ask for anything specific. They wanted a surprise and a surprise is what they got. New bedding that was more grown up and pre teen-ish was their main gift. To be honest they weren't too excited about this...at first. I could tell this because everything got left untouched and unnoticed under the tree for about 30 minutes and until Dae asked, "So what is all this?" Then and only then did the girls own up and "check them out". It might not have been exactly what they were hoping for but they ended up happy and REALLY liked everything in the end.

Deacon got Ninjago Lego's(just what he asked for). He was pretty much dancing around the living room for a couple minutes when he saw what he got.

Grandpa Bart and grandma LuJean came over in the morning and gave us presents. They made the girls jewelry boxes and they made Deacon a treasure box that looks like a pirates chest. To the left is a picture of them looking at a treasure map with clues on how to find the treasure chest somewhere hidden in the house. We all had so much fun helping and watching Deac find the clues. He loved it.

The after math(somewhat cleaned up).

Deacon had my name for Christmas. He drew me this picture and made me a little book of drawings taped together at the spine. This one is a picture of me and him.:) There is nothing I would have wanted more.
