There is something about this home that I will always miss if/when ever selling this place works out and we move away and that is the BACKyard. The inside of the house has also become "OUR" home in my heart. But I think I can learn to live without it pretty easily if we move into something else more updated that won't break down as much and doesn't have mice living in the utensil drawers. Even though it is quite a chore to manage and take care of our yard(at least for us it is) there is something breathtaking about giant sheltering cottonwood trees. The trees plus the field behind us have provided a special adventurous safe haven for our children to grow up in. Until recently we have gotten to experience all kinds of animals right in our very own backyard. Lets face it, I grew up a farm girl and I will always be one at heart. I don't mind the smell of manure and I never have. I would always choose a field setting over a tight nit cul-de-sac any day. But the truth is, I think our kids need a cul-de-sac the most right now. They need to know what's it's like to have lots of friends close by to choose from. Dae and I want them to experience adventure in a whole new way, and that is what we are looking for. I think they will also miss the Hullinger backyard like I will. But maybe....just maybe after a while the trade off will outweigh the missing.
For now, we will enjoy it while it lasts.
