These pictures bring back a lot of memories of me and my younger siblings. In case you don't know I am the 7th of 12 children in my family. When I was in high school, I was one of the oldest left at home and hence...the one who took the youngers "out". Sometimes it was to the mall shopping for new clothes and sometimes it was to Taco Amigo(the most popular joint in town). I wouldn't remember these outings much if at all, if it weren't for these pictures and the letter describing it all, that I recently found at the bottom of my cedar chest from Mica. I'm so glad I was a nice big sister most of the time.
There I am in the back, behind my sister Mica(***in braces***) and my brother Alex.
I love them both so much.
***about BRACES***
Some of us know that I have been wanting them for as long as I can remember. Right?
Seriously, for my entire married AND teenage life.
That's over 20 years if you count it...Holy moly, did I just say that?!
I gave up on the idea for a long time for several reasons. Mostly because of my own guilt. But I made a desperate plea not too long ago, to myself, to please make a decision...either I'm going to do something about it or I have to put it out of my mind. So, the date is set. Someday soon I'm taking the plunge. I'm going to know what it's like to look in the mirror and see straight teeth.
Hopefully I don't chicken out. It is a possibility.
