green paper.

Yesterday Lucy got in the car when I picked her up from school and the first thing she said to me was, "Mom, my friend Lily went to Florida today......When are we going to get to go there? When will we get to go in a airplane?"
Then she said, "Mom, I don't really want my green paper money anymore. You can have it."
My heart sunk a little.
I don't believe our children are deprived of fun...
As a family we LOVE camping. We look forward to it every summer(a couple times at least) as one of our favorite things.
But,
Our children have never seen the ocean.

My eyes plopped open a little after 4 a.m. this morning.
I know this is normal for some people, but for me...not so.
All I could think about as I lay there in a trance, was that my family needs a vacation desperately.
Some where warm. Some where farther than the foothills. Some where involving airplane tickets.

Picture of the day...
Today the sunshine on our deck feels like March. Jack has been basking in the sunshine all day long. How would that be? Everytime I let him in the house he only wants out again.
I think he wants Spring as badly as I do.
(Notice the piece of chewed up something or other and the rotten apple, both in close proximity to his mouth?)
