These are pictures of Damon playing "pomp" and "sharks and minnows" in his grandparent's backyard with all of the children.
It is exactly like him to escape the "get together" inside the house in exchange for a game...especially one with energy involved. I love that about him.
He inspires me to stay young.
I remember me as a child...I thought I was so fast...squealing and running as fast as my little legs could carry me, knowing the older person was going to catch me. For sure.
exhilaration. excitement. terror. laughter...comes to mind.

The games I remember as a child...
ghost in the graveyard
kick the can
dodge ball
Dae went for a run last night just after we tucked the kids in bed. I had energy I desperately needed to let out so I took Jack outside for some exercise. The sun was going down and the night was beautiful. I felt like a child again as I ran around the backyard making him chase me.
For 30 minutes I was 5 again.
I threw Jack his chew toy one last time, patted him on the head, and then completely relaxed as I sank down into the hammock.
Just then...
The sprinklers came on.
Jack freaked and ran...I laughed and was glad that I got to flee the scene wet...yet again with adventure in my night.
Damon thank you for always inspiring me to stay young at heart. I love you.
