Walmart TAKE 3

Take 1~ I woke up last Friday morning highly planning on a trip to Walmart that day. I had put off my super savvy shopping for long enough. We were down to only 10 rolls of toilet paper. I don't know if this savvy shopping business is for me and to be quite honest, I was dreading the experience. The kids and I were nearly headed out the door when I was overcome by............
I swear it was the "Martian Death Flu"...or something.....
Needless to say I wasn't going anywhere.
I spent the rest of my day in solitary confinement in my bathroom while the children played and babysat each other.
Deacon and Lucy occasionally brought me dandelions and Kandus brought me a rock shaped like a heart.
Lucy's words that I remember..."You're the best mom in the whole world, just so you know...even more than a dog...even more than Jack. Cause dogs aren't like people, huh?"
and...
"Mom, you might need someone to sleep by you tonight.......I'll do it", she easily obliged.
Take 2~ Monday morning rolled around and I was ready for a second shot at Walmart. We headed out early, right after I dropped Kandus off.
We were not there but 5 minutes when Deacon starts to cry saying his belly hurt.
You have got to be kidding me. Right now? "I'll just get one more thing and we will go," I said.
Well...I was one more thing too late. Lucy ran to the end of the isle and started gagging/coughing as Deacon...in his words, "Frew up at the store."
I came home grocery less yet another day...except for the pack of toothbrushes that Lucy accidentally walked out with.
Take 3~ This morning we hit Walmart again.
All went really well at the store actually. We took back the stolen toothbrushes and I got everything on my list. I almost saved a whole 5 dollars off the bill with my coupons. See what I mean Lindsey?
At checkout, I spied Lucy tearing the seal off of some chap stick and inconspicuously smearing it on her lips. So..."we" bought the stick, came home, and did some jobs together.

At the end of the day and after all is said and done...good or bad, what can you do but smile and be thankful for the day you have been given?
