I am obsessed with the Strawberry Shortcake dolls. Especially Strawberry herself. When I was growing up they were my absolute favorite. Even more than Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, or the Care Bears. They smell absolutely delectable and remind me of the little girl I used to be. I know most of my 7 sisters had at least one of the dolls. This is what I can remember though...Mica had Lemon Meringue, Katie had Blueberry Muffin, and I had Strawberry.

Yes...she was mine.

I only wish I still had her. I remember us sniffing our dolls over and over as if they were an addictive drug. This might be part of the reason why I bought Kandus a Strawberry Shortcake doll when she was only 2 months old.

....It was back in the year of 2001 when Damon, I and Alex(my brother) were at Toys R Us when I first saw "her"(Strawberry).

I couldn't believe it.

Had the Strawberry Shortcake Collection really come back?! She looked and SMELLED just like I had remembered, nearly 20 years ago. I even saw most of her fruity friends there on the shelf too. Maybe these dolls would be the last I would EVER see. Maybe everyone who was just like me would take them all.

I couldn't be sure.

I told Damon that it was A MUST that I bring her home with us that very night.

And so I did.

Now the question is...did I really buy her for Kandus or did I buy her for me?

As per my request...my girls have colored for me, Lemon Meringue and Strawberry Shortcake.

I love them Kandus and Lucy!
